Services for family carers

Our Specialist service is for family carers, supporting someone, predominantly children and young people living with Sickle Cell Anaemia and Thalassaemia blood disorder, including co-morbidities.

Project activities will provide peer support sessions, well-being activities and family resilience short courses.

This is a city-wide service as part of Birmingham Carers Hub delivery partnership arrangements to support carers from Black and Minority Ethnic communities, so they have better access to services, ensure they have a voice and are heard.

Our service will also help carers to:

· Reduce feelings of loneliness

· Increase social participation

· Increased confidence in role of carer

· Create better support network
